Highly experienced professional and motivational tutor. With an MSc degree and more than 12 years’ experience in private tuition, from teaching Maths to 11+ entry exams, to supporting post graduates at Master degree level, the target is always to bring out the full academic potential of every student. This is achieved through positive motivation and encouragement, supporting each student to achieve their very best, and hopefully inspire and instil a love of studying.

The tuition is based on the recognition and understanding that each student has their own way of achieving their highest possible results.  We fully recognise that in private tuition, the student does not have to compromise and can get the best tutor to suit their individual needs.  We try to accommodate the very busy and restrictive schedules of both parents and students, including boarding school students and distance universities. The aim is always to try to help the students achieve their targets.

Tuition is focused on a wide range of requirements from specific issues within a subject to a long-term plan for exam success or professional skills acquisition.

The Tuition provides support with exams preparation, technique and success, as well as coursework, re-sits and work related knowledge acquisition.

Location

The tuition is delivered either at the tutor's home, student's home, central London, or via internet (Skype) link – e-learning

E-Learning

Some subjects and modules can be taught online, using tools such as Skype: usually Business Studies, some theory modules of Computer Science, ICT, Computing and Physics.

However, it is not recommended for some modules and courses, such as programming for certain levels, Web Design, animation – 2D and 3D, parts of Databases etc.

When E-learning is required, a discussion about the advantages and shortfalls of E-learning, with regard to the specific module, will take place.

Methods

After an initial assessment period and evaluation, a study plan and sometimes a timetable will be set. The private tuition will attempt, when applicable, to catch up, match and be further ahead of the school/university schedule. To achieve that, the student will be required to follow a tight schedule, and to complete home assignments set by the tutor.

With regard to coursework, full support will be given in order to achieve the best possible grade. In preparation for GCSE and A levels, mock exams and past papers will be set in full exam conditions, and will be supervised.

Learning Styles

Tuition is tailored to a wide range of needs and abilities with varied approaches. We take account of each student's most effective learning style to maximise their results, as well as the age, maturity and experience of the student.
